Grown on the Estate vineyards at Rowland Flat and Lyndoch in southern Barossa Valley. The single wire trellised vines planted in 1995 and 2004 allow for dappled light at the fruit zone to produce optimal ripeness, which is colour, flavour, tannin and sugar development combined. The grapes were harvested on flavour and beautiful expressions of varietal character.
The 2023 growing season had a wet spring with well above average rainfall, this caused late flowering. Average temperatures during summer, with no heatwaves made for a late start to harvest.
The grapes for this wine are grown on the Estate vineyards, at Rowland Flat in southern Barossa Valley. The vines are planted on single wire trellising allowing for optimal ripeness. The grapes were harvested on the 31st March freshness and varietal character determining picking decisions.

Upfront and enticing, the wine shows blackberry, baking spice, rich floral, and vanillin oak characters. The palate displays excellent concentration and plush texture, wonderfully supported by silky tannins, finishing persistent and opulent.

Purple maroon in colour, this is ripe, bold and beautifully perfumed. We have notes of cassis, licorice, chocolate, plums, coffee grinds, beefstock, mocha, black fruits and mulberries. Good intensity on the palate, a fine line of acidity and very fine tannins, there is a supple and seductive texture. Impressive length, this is a ten year proposition.

Colour: Dark Plum with purple hues
Aroma: Vanilla, plum and brown spice
Palate: Varietal fruit sweetness of dark plum and berries with clove and brown spice. This generously rounded wine has plush tannins that add texture and structure. The toasty, vanillan characters come from the American oak which add persistence and length.
Making: This wine was fermented at 22-28C in open fermenters for 10 days and pumped over twice daily. Optimum skin contact married with American oak maturation for 20 months ensures length and structure on the palate. The Fierce III Shiraz was matured in 35% new oak and 65% seasoned oak with various toasting levels.
