Fierce III 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon

$45.00

At the heart of our winery is family, the seed from which all else grows. The power of three, combining our strengths and passion to make memorable wines. We honour our heritage, embrace the present and toast to the future. Live Fierce!

Grown on the Estate vineyards, at Rowland Flat in Southern Barossa Valley. Sourced predominately from our Winery block. The vines are planted in 1995 on a single wire trellis managing yield to low/moderate and facilitating dappled sunlight to the fruit critically important to Cabernet Sauvignon to achieve tannin ripeness.
The 2022 growing season consisted of a wet winter and below average temperatures during summer, which allowed for good set and even ripening. The grapes for this wine were harvested on the 31st March they are grown on the Estate vineyards, at Rowland Flat in southern Barossa Valley. Sourced predominately from our Winery block. The vines are planted on single wire trellising controlling low/moderate cropping levels allowing optimal ripeness.

Cook with me, drink me, share me with your friends. For a complementary food pairing low and slow American ribs or a contrast pairing something with abundance of briny olives such as puttanesca.

Sam Kim, The Wine Orbit – 93 points

Varietally expressive and splendidly fragrant, the bouquet shows cassis, tobacco, cedar, vanilla, and warm spice aromas. The palate is beautifully weighted and persistent, with a fleshy texture backed by polished tannins. Wonderfully structured and robust with stylish complexity.

Ken Garrett – 91 points

Barossa Cabernet from a fine vintage, this is an exuberant and generous style, flavour first! An opaque magenta in colour, the nose gives us black cherries, mulberries, notes of red jellybeans, tobacco leaves and blackcurrants. Chocolate, coffee grinds and mocha emerge on the palate. This offers wall-to-wall big flavours. A wine of medium length, good persistence and fine tannins, it will continue to drink well over the next eight years.

Q Wines

It opens with smoked meats, carob and licorice. Cedar, woodsy spices and some pine needle come courtesy of the oak with a good wash of fruit cake and dense plums not far from the action. Find a generous piece of protein and you’re set. It’s well done.
