Wine-making for Lou Miranda has always been a passion that is reflected in his love of family, fine wines & cuisine. This is coupled with a dedication to excellence which is reflected in three generations of Miranda. I am proud to introduce the Golden Lion range. The Golden Lion is an ode to the Autumn vine, shedding their golden leaves in preparation for a bountiful Spring.
Colour: Deep Red with purples hues
Aroma: Dark berry fruits accompanies by plum and spice. Vanillin, toasty notes from oak influence
Palate: Generous palate of plum, dark fruits, vanilla, brown spice and chocolate. This medium to full bodied wine is rich and balanced by the characters derived from American oak, mid palate sweetness and integrated tannins. Overall flavoursome with a persistent lingering finish.
Wine: The 2021 vintage was a return to expected South Australian climatic conditions. A relief to the very challenging conditions of 2019 & 2020. A wet winter and spring set the vines up for lush canopies. The mild conditions experienced throughout spring and summer resulted in beautifully ripened grapes. Perfect for the Golden Lion style.
The Golden Lion Barossa Valley Shiraz is a very approachable balanced wine, showing lovely varietal flavours from the Southern Barossa Valley. This wine can be enjoyed with chargrilled beef tenderloin or aged cheddar cheeses. Alternatively this wine can be drunk on any occasion and with correct cellaring can be enjoyed for many years with much benefit.
