Barossa Gin, Beer and Coffee, oh my!

Barossa, More than just wine

When you hear Barossa Valley, you probably think excellent wines. And you’d be right. Here at Lou Miranda Estate, we’re proud to be part of a world class wine region.

But even wine makers like to drink other things, and here in the Barossa, there’s so much more on offer to drink than just wine.

Barossa Gin from the local distillers, Beer from the Micro-breweries and coffee from the local roasters are now very much in the spotlight of what the Barossa Valley has on offer.

But first Coffee

Every good day starts with a Prosecco. Oops, I mean coffee!

You can easily find great coffee all across the Barossa Valley.

The Barossa Coffee Roasters and Bean Addiction Coffee, roast, blend and curate some of the most exceptional single origin and coffee blends to be found. Sourcing the best beans from all over the world and roasting on site, there is a coffee style to suit everyone’s preference.

The coffee roasteries are open to drop in, have a coffee, then stock up on your favourite blend.

You can also find these coffees in many Barossa cafes, and the baristas are sure to make you the best coffee, just the way you like it to start off your day in the Barossa.

Gin

Not being a fan of wine used to pose some issues when travelling to the Barossa. Not anymore with the Barossa gin making a splash in the spirits scene. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to gin, with several distillers making a variety of classic and modern gins that are sure to wow.

The Barossa Distilling Company has a cellar door in Nuriootpa and Seppeltsfield Road Distillers has a cellar door in Marananga, which allows you to taste the gins, learn the story of each of the varieties, and see the stills in action.

If you are a true Gin fan or want to up the Gin experience to expert level, the Barossa Gin School offers a hands-on way to learn about Distilling and making your very own gin.

Barossa Distilling

Brewery’s might be micro but the Beer isn’t.

Like gin, beer is not the first thing to come to mind when thinking about the Barossa Valley. With the rise of the micro-brewery in Australia, we have seen the emergence of several excellent breweries across the towns of the Barossa.

With a variety of beer styles on offer, from an IPA or a rich stout, to flavoured ales, the local brewers have a lot on offer.

Rehn Beer and Barossa Valley Brewing in Tanunda, Western Ridge Brewing in Nuriootpa and Greenock Brewers in Greenock allow you to meet the brewers and taste their beers with guided tasting experiences, think wine tasting, but with beer.

What’s on your Barossa tasting itinerary?

Body:              The Barossa is more than just wine. You can find the best of these beverages around the valley directly from the distillers, roasters, and brewers. Next time you visit the Barossa Valley for a weekend of wine tasting, why not add in a stop at an alternative Barossa beverage venue too?
