Generous palate of plum, dark fruits, vanilla, brown spice and chocolate. This medium to full bodied wine is rich and balanced by the characters derived from American oak, mid palate sweetness and integrated tannins. Overall flavoursome with a persistent lingering finish.
Wine
The 2022 growing season consisted of a wet winter and below average temperatures during summer, which allowed for good set and even ripening.
The Golden Lion Barossa Valley Shiraz is a very approachable balanced wine, showing lovely varietal flavours from the Southern Barossa Valley. This wine can be enjoyed with chargrilled beef tenderloin or aged cheddar cheeses. Alternatively this wine can be drunk on any occasion and with correct cellaring can be enjoyed for many years with much benefit.
