Wine-making for Lou Miranda has always been a passion that is reflected in his love of family, fine wines & cuisine. This is coupled with a dedication to excellence which is reflected in three generations of Miranda. I am proud to introduce the Golden Lion range. The Golden Lion is an ode to the Autumn vine, shedding their golden leaves in preparation for a bountiful Spring.
Colour: Deep Crimson Red with purple hues
Aroma: Rich plum and dark berry fruits, with spice and vanillin oak
Palate: Delicious varietal characters of plump dark fruits, vanilla and chocolate give generosity to this medium to full bodied Shiraz. The richness is balanced with toasty, vanillin oak and tannin giving an abundance of flavour and a persistent finish.
Wine: The 2020 growing season was low yielding with little rain during winter and a dry summer. This lead to full maturity offering generosity in the resulting wines. The 2020 Golden Lion Shiraz has intense varietal characters of rich, juicy ripe dark fruit flavour, mid palate sweetness and integrated tannins. Maturation in American oak adds structure and complexity to the fruit flavours adding to the wines length and persistence.
This wine can be enjoyed with chargrilled beef tenderloin, or aged cheddar cheeses. Alternatively it can be drunk on any occasion and with correct cellaring can be enjoyed for many years – Cellar for 10 years or more
