Colour: Deep rich crimson red with ruby hues
Aroma: Concentrated aroma full of rich berry flavours, spices and smooth vanillin oak and dark chocolate notes.
Palate: A full bodied wine displaying great palate weight, length, structure and texture. Juicy berry and red plum characters are complemented by spicy flavours and ripe tannins. The oak delivers persistence of flavour and length.
Wine: Echoing traditional Italian Amarone techniques, our Cordon Cut Shiraz uses a unique wine making approach where vine branches (cordons) are cut just prior to harvesting. Starved of nutrition from the vine, the berries concentrate in flavour intensity for up to a week before careful fruit selection. The resulting wine exemplifies the full rich flavours of the Barossa Valley, with wonderful ripe fruit and excellent tannin structure.
Food matching: This wine can be enjoyed with Venison or rack of lamb and will compliment rich sauces. Enjoy now or cellar for 10 or more years. To enhance this wine please decanter.
